Nutrition tips for the college student are now just a click away with the help of Residential Programs and Services’ Nutrition Bytes blog.
The blog is updated by RPS-registered dietitian Rachel Noirot.
“I really wanted students to get information about nutrition in a format they are used to,” Noirot said. “It’s in their language and allows them to make comments and share ideas.”
The blog covers topics such as what foods are being served at the Eat Right stations during a particular week to more fitness-oriented information, such as exercise tips.
“I think there is a lot of good information out there, and I am the filter,” Noirot said. “My information is always research-based.”
The nutrition blog is updated about twice a week with information about new foods that are featured in the dining halls, such as gluten-free products and Greek yogurt available at Union Street Market.
The blog is geared toward students, but RPS staff also read it, Noirot said.
“I encourage students to check it regularly and follow it,” Noirot said.
