The IU men’s tennis team picked up three wins over break, beating rival Purdue, No. 46 Arizona and Scottsdale Community College.

The Hoosiers began the break by beating the Boilermakers 6-1 at home in both teams’ Big Ten opener. IU won two of three doubles matches and five singles matches, all in straight sets, to defeat Purdue.

The team then traveled to Tucson, Ariz., and picked up a 5-2 win against the Arizona Wildcats, dropping only two singles matches. Later that day, the Hoosiers cruised to a 7-0 victory against Scottsdale Community College, winning each match in straight sets.

In the two matches in Arizona, the Hoosiers’ doubles tandems went undefeated for a total of six wins.

Senior Santiago Gruter went 3-0 on the week, while junior Stephen Vogl and sophomore Josh MacTaggart each went 2-0.
