Campus MovieFest to showcase student work

Campus MovieFest, a free weeklong student film festival, will begin Wednesday at IU. The world’s largest student film festival can be found at more than 75 colleges and universities in the United States and Mexico, Campus MovieFest Event Coordinator
Jessica Reynoso said.

“Ever since creating Campus MovieFest as students at Emory University 10 years ago, we’ve always strived to provide students with everything they need to make their own movie and see it on the big screen,” she said. “Regardless of their level of
knowledge of movie making, we want all students to feel like they can tell their own stories and achieve their own dreams.”

Campus MovieFest is open to all IU students, faculty and staff. Teams are given Apple laptops, Panasonic HD camcorders, training and support to assist with the production of the five-minute movie, Reynoso said.

“Our goals are to provide an opportunity for everyone to have a great time creating a movie and for the entire IU campus to come see their fellow students’ work at the CMF Finale on April 10th,” she said.  

Interested participants can sign up at www.campusmoviefest.com under “Events” and then pick up their equipment from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday in the Redbud Room of the Indiana Memorial Union.
