The Residence Hall Association is a student-run organization dedicated to making the residence halls a place where students want to live, as well as representing the residents to the University.
RHA officer elections will take place today from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the residence halls. Only students currently living in a residence hall are eligible to vote.

First Year Experience
IUVision hopes to make residence hall living more interactive by featuring surveys for freshmen so they can make knowledgeable decisions about where to live. “This isn’t made to find the perfect roommate,” Eble said. “We want to give information about living-learning and thematic communities to gauge student interest and direct them to a place they might like.”
Amenities
Following the 21st Century Summit, IUVision hopes to explore the option of offering a co-gender, suite-style living option. This would be a pilot program to make IU a more progressive campus. “We want to test it out first on a small population to get feedback,” Sreetharan said.
Outreach
IUVision hopes to sponsor a Bloomington Roundup event in collaboration with the greek community to improve safety when rushing . This event would bridge the gap between the residence hall and greek communities. “The greek system may not be for everyone, but we want to make a safe program for students to find resources about the process,” Jackson said.
Health and Wellness
To encourage a more healthy campus, IUVision is looking to create the Crimson Diet and Higher Health programs. These programs will work in conjunction with Residential Program and Services’ “Fight the Fifteen” campaign . “We started a trial program of Higher Health and already received positive comments on it,” Eble said.

ASAP: Always Safe and Prepared
LOL plans to improve safety on campus by adding blue lights, crosswalks and more lighting at night. “We want to add a stop sign between Union Street Center and Eigenmann because a girl was recently hit by a car speeding down the road there,” Mroz said.
TTYL: Telecommunications Transforming Your Life
LOL would like to oversee campus-wide wireless Internet, improvements to the IU Notify program and RHA website redesign. “We want to increase the speed and quality of the IU Notify service,” Burris said.
BRB: Better Resident Benefits
To better the residence halls, LOL hopes to improve vegan/vegetarian menu options as well as be a voice for students’ concerns. “We also want to offer males and females the chance to live together,” Abplanalp said. “This is geared toward, but not limited to, LGBT residents.”
FYI: For Your Improvements
To increase accountability of RHA, LOL plans to have more documented office hours and detailed information about spending. “We want to make the website more visible and allow residents to see where their money is going,” Burris said.
