Larry Singell Jr. has been appointed dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at IU-Bloomington.
Singell, the associate dean for social sciences at the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Oregon, will begin July 1 as long as the IU Board of Trustees confirms this appointment, according to a press release.
Singell’s research focuses on the economics of higher education, and he was also head of the economics department at Oregon from 2006-2008. He has been associate dean since 2008.
David Zaret, a sociology professor, will continue to serve as the interim dean of the oldest and largest academic division of IU until Singell is officially appointed.
