Police found what appeared to be hundreds of pictures of child pornography on a Bloomington man’s computer Thursday morning, Sgt. Jeff Canada of the Bloomington Police Department said.
A relative living with James Pollard, 62, called Bloomington police after noticing the pornography on Pollard’s computer.
Officers found numerous photos of prepubescent girls on the computer, Canada said.
Pollard told police he might have viewed some pornographic websites, but he had never downloaded any files.
“This is contrary to what was viewed by the officers,” Canada said.
Because two children also live in the residence, police are working with the Indiana Department of Child Services to ensure the children’s safety.
“Due to the contents of the computer and there being children in the house, we are continuing to investigate,” Canada said.
Pollard was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography, a Class D felony.
