Robin D. Sowders, 51, who was bludgeoned in the head at his home on Sunday, was pronounced dead at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis on Monday, according to a Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and Monroe County Coroner’s Office
news release.
The coroner’s office and sheriff’s office are investigating the death as a homicide.
This is the second homicide in Monroe County in a month. On Oct. 8, the Monroe County Sheriff’s office declared Crystal Grubb’s death a homicide after the Bloomington resident’s body was discovered in a corn field in northern Monroe County.
An autopsy Wednesday confirmed he died of head injuries.
Sowders was found in his home at about 11:08 a.m. Oct. 24 at 1560 E. Moffett Lane. Perry Clear Creek Fire Department responded along with paramedics, and they transported Sowders to Bloomington Hospital.
Because of the severity of his injuries, Sowders was transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, according to the release.
If any person has information related to the case, they are asked to contact Monroe County Detective Division at 812-349-2822.
