Motorcyclist, passenger struck on Jordan Avenue

Wreck

Bloomington Police were dispatched at 2:42 p.m. Tuesday to a hit-and-run accident that occurred at the intersection of South Jordan Avenue and Third Street, according to Sgt. Scott Myers of Bloomington Police Department.

A motorcyclist and passenger were traveling south bound on Jordan Avenue when a vehicle turning left on to Third Street struck the motorcycle, Myers said.

Myers said the vehicle had appeared to have failed to yield before it turned onto Third Street. The vehicle then fled the scene.

As of now, the vehicle is described as a Chrysler Sebring, Myers said. BPD is continuing to investigate the accident.

Both the driver and passenger on the motorcycle were taken to Bloomington Hospital. Myers said the motorcyclist appeared to have injuries on his arm.

However, neither the driver nor the passenger appeared to have life-threatening injuries,
Myers said. The identifications of the driver and the passenger have yet to be released.
