The IU volleyball team suffered its first loss of the season in four sets Wednesday against Purdue at University Gym.
The Hoosiers (12-1, 0-1 Big Ten) opened conference play against their in-state rivals by winning the first set, 25-23, but the Boilermakers (10-2, 1-0) pulled out the next three games, 26-24, 25-23 and 28-26 to claim the first of two meetings between the schools this season.
IU entered the match as one of 10 unbeaten teams in the nation.
