Best dressed in pop culture

joan

Joan Harris, “Mad Men”
In the age of men, Joan Harris has never been afraid to be a woman. As the rock of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, Joan’s confident, commanding attitude manifests itself in her dress. Bold colors and brilliant cuts suit her figure (and swagger) perfectly and have made her silhouette one of the most recognizable on television.

Jack Donaghy,  “30 Rock”
“Why are you wearing a tux?”

“It’s after 6. What am I, a farmer?”

Never one to be outdressed, Mr. Jack Donaghy makes it hard for anyone to even match him. Every day is a nine to him; as in, dressing to them is part of his morning routine.

His unmovable hair and unrelenting collection of suits are the envy of everyone at the “30 Rock” studios and even Alec Baldwin himself.

Prof. George Falconer, “A Single Man”
Is there anything classier and more fashionable than Colin Firth decked out in fashion designer Tom Ford’s chic and simple ’60s style? Firth’s Oscar nominated role as a gay English professor in Ford’s “A Single Man” had him done up in the best black and white suit, ties and glasses. His description of himself in the mirror is poetry: “By the time I have dressed and put the final layer of polish on the now slightly stiff but quite perfect George, I know fully what part I’m supposed to play.”

TOM HANSEN, “(500) Days of Summer”

Joseph Gordon-Levitt was already endearing as the wayward architect-gone-greeting-card-writer Tom Hansen.

But his hip, well-crafted outfits made it even easier for the ladies to love him and harder for them to accept his heartbreak. Sure he may have had a rough go of it, but he rocked sweaters, ties and collars in the best, most versatile of ways.
