All-clear issued for IMU gas leak

An all-clear has been issued after a gas leak caused several entrances to the Indiana Memorial Union to be locked.

Pathways leading from Seventh Street to the IMU were blocked off Wednesday morning after Campus Division construction workers struck an unmarked gas main, IMU maintenance manager Jack Kannady said.

While working on construction of the Dunn Meadow Cafe patio, workers hit a natural gas main leading into the building, Kannady said.

“It wasn’t marked,” he said. “It wasn’t their fault by any means.”
