INDIANAPOLIS — About 170 members of the Indiana National Guard’s 1613th Engineering Support Company have returned from a yearlong deployment in Afghanistan.
The LaPorte-based unit returned Friday night to Stout Field in Indianapolis.
The unit winterized bases in Afghanistan to provide shelter for troops and also worked to improve roads. They were to report to Camp Atterbury for redeployment processing and soon will be able to stay with their families.
