Wisconsin crushes IU, 83-55

IU-Wisconsin

With senior guard Devan Dumes home with the flu, the Hoosiers were expecting points to be at a premium against one of the Big Ten's best defenses.

But the way things went Saturday, no one could have saved IU.

Fueled by 21 turnovers and 18 fouls, the IU men's basketball team received a shredding from No. 11 Wisconsin, 83-55.

Freshman forward Christian Watford (15) and sophomore guard Verdell Jones (11) were the only Hoosiers to reach double-digit scoring. However, a poor shooting performance was not the storyline for IU.

Four IU players and at least 3 turnovers, as freshman forward Bawa Muniru and sophomore forward Kory Barnett were the only Hoosiers to touch the floor and not give the ball away.

Porous defense didn't help IU's cause, as the Badgers, led by guard Jason Bohannon's 30 points, shot 50.8 percent from the field and 40 percent from 3-point range.

The Hoosiers (9-15, 3-9) will try to find themselves in another tough matchup with No. 10 Michigan State on Tuesday at Assembly Hall.
