Student alleges robbery

An IU student reported a strong-arm robbery this weekend at the Indiana Memorial Union.
The complainant told the IU Police Department he had been at a party at Brownstone Terrace Apartments on Sunday morning before walking to the IMU to call for a cab.

“The complainant believes someone approached him from behind and struck him,” according to an IUPD press release.

The incident occurred around 5 a.m. Sunday but was not reported until 1:48 p.m.
IUPD Lt. Craig Munroe said the victim believes he was unconscious for five to 10 minutes.

“The complainant found himself waking up on the ground and the phone missing,” according to the release.

An undisclosed amount of cash was also reported missing from his wallet.

The victim refused medical treatment and showed no visible signs of injury.

The victim was unable to describe the suspect. There are no suspects at this time.
