Semi trailer separates from cab

A semi separated from its cab at 7:02 a.m. Tuesday when the driver made a right turn onto Jordan Avenue.

According to the report read by IU Police Department Lt. Craig Munroe, “The semi was eastbound on 17th Street, turning south onto Jordan Avenue when the trailer split from the cab.”

IUPD speculates that the locking mechanism on the trailer might have been broken.

When the truck separated, a hydraulic line snapped and shattered the rear window of the cab. The trailer did not appear to sustain damages and was resting on the pavement when IUPD arrived.
