Phi Psi brother reports assault

A Phi Kappa Psi brother notified the IU Police Department Tuesday that he was a victim of assault in his fraternity house two weeks ago. The attack was similar to one sustained by an individual in McNutt Quad on Wednesday, he said.

On Feb. 6, the complainant assisted four individuals to the door of the fraternity house after a rush event. He noticed that two of the four individuals made their way back into the house and he again escorted them to the door.

According to a report read by IU Police Department Lt. Craig Munroe, “the complainant opened the door for the two subjects when one of them punched him in the back of the head.”

The complainant decided he originally did not want to notify police. However, he decided to file a report when he read an article in the Indiana Daily Student, which involved a similar circumstance to an individual living on the third floor of McNutt-Bocobo.

According to the Phi Psi complainant, one of the suspects was five feet, eight inches tall with red hair and may have been named Jack. The second suspect was six feet, one inch tall with black hair and a large build.

The complainant saw the two leave in a black Pontiac. The two suspects similarly match the description of two suspects that assaulted the male complainant Wednesday in his McNutt residence hall.
