National Weather Service issues hazardous weather outlook for central Indiana

A winter storm warning is in effect from midnight to 1 p.m. Wednesday. Central Indiana can expect 5 to 9 inches of snowfall tonight.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for central Indiana, stating that the region will see significant snowfall Monday night continuing through Tuesday. Slick roads and significant blowing and drifiting snow will be a concern Tuesday and Wednesday, and wind gusts around 35 mph are possible, according to the National Weather Service.

People are advised to travel only in an emergency, according to the National Weather Service. If travelling, keep an extra flashlight, along with food and water, in the vehicle in case of an emergency.
