Brandon Seniff, 21, faces a preliminary charge of simple assault.
IU Police Department officers witnessed a woman screaming, “He’s killing himself,” while patrolling on Kirkwood Avenue at about 3 a.m. Friday, Lt. Craig Munroe said, reading from a police report.
The officers followed the female to an apartment directly above Panda Express. The female told the officers her roommate was, “destroying everything,” according to the report. Upon reaching the upstairs apartment, the officers spotted blood on the door handle. The complainant opened the apartment door for the officers.
Her roommate, Seniff, was “jumping up and down on a broken table and screaming while only wearing boxer shorts,” according to the report. Once inside the apartment, an officer attempted to restrain Seniff.
The pair fell back into a chair before Seniff hit the officer’s right jaw, Munroe said. Officers consequently sprayed Seniff with pepper spray. They were then able to subdue Seniff and place him in handcuffs.
Seniff was bleeding from his right knee and both hands and was taken to Bloomington Hospital.
Seniff had a blood alcohol content “roughly four times higher than the legal limit,” Monroe said.
Seniff was taken to Monroe County Jail.
