Public H1N1 clinic open Saturday

H1N1 flu mists are in and available to the public.

The vaccine is currently being served to those within a certain target population. Those that are eligible and approved to receive the mist are healthy 2- to 24 year- olds, according to a press release.

Mists will be available at 10 a.m. Saturday at Community Health Services at 333 E. Miller Dr. in Bloomington.

The Monroe County Health Department is expecting 500 to 700 doses of flu mist to be available until 2 p.m., or until the vaccine supply diminishes.

Monroe County Health Administrator Penny Caudill said that when the H1N1 vaccine supply is sufficient, people should be vaccinated even if they believe they have had the H1N1 flu.

Additional clinics for those in other segments of the target group are being scheduled for later dates.

Those dates and times will be posted online at http://www.co.monroe.in.us/health.
