Police hurt in car chase

INDIANAPOLIS – A police officer was injured during a chase that began when a woman reported seeing a stolen car – her own.

Lt. Jeff Duhamell said Officer Brad Craig’s leg was clipped while putting spiked “stop sticks” in the path of the car allegedly stolen by a 17-year-old.

The unnamed woman told police she was driving to work Wednesday when she was passed her Chevrolet Monte Carlo, which had been stolen Monday.

The stop sticks flattened one of the stolen car’s tires. The suspect tried to run away but was caught by Craig’s police dog.
