Women: What we wish you knew ...

Women: What we wish you knew

The female brain is something men have been trying to understand for centuries.

Sometimes it seems men and women speak different languages. But what is hiding behind each perfectly placed hair in that complicated female head? Guys, this is your chance to find out.

Although it may seem that some women are confident and sure of themselves 100 percent of the time, they all have days when they aren’t feeling pretty. And just because a girl is confident doesn’t mean that she doesn’t appreciate a little flattery.

“I wish guys knew that it is OK to make the first move,” freshman Caitlin Prim said. “Because I really don’t want to.”

While it is still seen as socially acceptable for guys to don the just-got-out-of-bed look, women agree that appearance is definitely important – and that it isn’t OK to wear sweatpants or pajamas in place of real pants, Prim added.

“It’s always touching for a girl when the guy tries to look nice,” freshman Marie Kosakowski said. “Be true to your own style, but be clean.”

And being clean means actually being clean. It doesn’t count to cover up greasy hair with a hat, said sophomore Esther Solooki. And don’t use deodorant to cover up the smell of not showering.

“Axe smells bad ... It’s just bad,” Kosakowski said.

Solooki agreed that men and women react differently to emotions, expressing her desire for guys to be more understanding when it comes to feelings.

“Sometimes it’s frustrating because they just don’t get stuff,” Solooki said.

And what’s even more frustrating is a man who doesn’t respect a woman’s opinion. Just ask Prim, who said she wished more guys would respect her decision to not have sex with them.

“The top priority should be to make sure the other person feels comfortable, safe and isn’t being taken advantage of,” Kosakowski said.
