Students to demonstrate at campus coal plant

Students will present a demonstration at noon Wednesday at the Central Heating Plant at 11th Street and Fee Lane. The event is coordinated with the release of a report that shows how much coal IU and colleges across the country use.

The report is sponsored by the Sierra Club, a grassroots environmental group. The club wants IU to replace its coal plant with one that uses “clean energy.”

The students plan to deliver the report to IU President Michael McRobbie’s office.
