WEST LAFAYETTE — Purdue University is reporting 47 students who've sought treatment at a campus clinic have likely cases of H1N1 flu.
Purdue Student Health Center director James Westman said Wednesday that all of the students appear to have relatively mild cases, much like the seasonal flu.
The patients have been advised to take the same steps they would for any type of flu.
Westman says he's been advised to consider all cases of flu to be likely H1N1 flu cases because the fall flu season has not yet begun.
Purdue officials have also heard from a local urgent care center reporting that doctors there have seen students with flu-like symptoms. People under age 25 are believed to have little or no immunity to the H1N1 flu virus.
