LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The city of Lafayette is getting nearly $2.2 million in federal stimulus funds to install wind turbines that will power its bus maintenance garage complex.
The turbines paid for by the Department of Transportation grant are expected to provide a significant amount of the electricity used by CityBus in Greater Lafayette.
Most of the power consumed by the municipal bus service is used at its garage and maintenance facilities.
