‘Jennifer’ isn’t hot

"Jennifer's Body"

It’s hard to imagine that Diablo Cody would ever write something as goofy and grotesque as “Jennifer’s Body.”

But this is nothing more than “Juno” meets “True Blood” in one of the more disappointing mash-ups of the year.

Jennifer (Megan Fox) is Minnesota’s hottest cheerleader, and after a demonic turn, she begins seducing teenage boys and feeding on their flesh.

Her best friend Needy (Amanda Seyfried) fears her boyfriend will befall the same fate.
With just as much slang and indie music as “Juno,” the more violent moments in “Body” become laughable and impossible to take seriously.

And yet it’s a concept that could’ve worked if more talented and experienced actresses than Fox and Seyfried had been handling the dialogue.
But the film does have cult potential.

Drooling fanboys are likely to snicker at lines like “I go both ways” or “You stabbed my tit.”

There’s even a steamy lesbian kiss scene between the two actresses, which I can’t rationalize or defend.

But can I really complain?
