A new walking tour in Bloomington highlights the limestone buildings on IU's campus.
The self-guided tour brochure points out different architecture styles on IU's campus and shows intricate carvings on historic and contemporary buildings. Bloomington officials hope the tour will appeal to students, alumni, history buffs and architecture enthusiasts.
Rob DeCleene of the Bloomington/Monroe County Convention and Visitors Bureau says the tour will boost ongoing efforts to promote the area's limestone heritage. He says the new tour will also be a way for people interested in IU to learn more about the school.
Tour brochures are available at the Bloomington Visitors Center and the IU Visitor Information Center.
