More than enough to ‘Gossip’ about

Gossip Girl

Summer houses in the Hamptons, sleeping with older women for money, having a secret relationship with your English teacher – sounds like a typical senior year of high school, right? That’s the general gist of things in season two of “Gossip Girl.”

With eye candy for everyone, the season is certainly entertaining if also vapid and brainless. But then again, sometimes students need something to help distract them from classes and homework.

The extras found on disc seven are actually pretty interesting. One takes us behind the scenes to look at the real artists involved in the show and also introduces us to ghost designers for Jenny Humphrey and Eleanor Waldorf.

The blooper reel, unabashedly named “LOL,” provides a few laughs. But the best extra, hands down, is the group of shorts called “Chasing Dorota.” This twenty-five minutes of footage exposes the secret life of the Waldorfs’ assistant. Who knew the hired help had scandals of their own?
