William Cast was elected as president of the IU board of trustees during a business meeting on August 14.
Cast, an IU trained surgeon and physician from Fort Wayne, succeeds Stephen Ferguson, who reached his two term limit as head of the trustees, according to an IU press release.
According to the release, Cast practices at ENT Specialists in Fort Wayne. He was the founding chairman of DuPont Hospital and is the CEO of NoMoreClipboard.com, a Web site where people can upload their medical information so they or their various doctors can access it. He was also the founding president of Canterbury School, a pre-kindergarten through 12th grade school in Fort Wayne.
