MACY, Ind. – State Police say a trooper who visited a north-central Indiana home to investigate a 911 hang-up call discovered a marijuana-growing operation in the home.
On Friday, the trooper visited the Miami County home about 90 miles north of Indianapolis after a 911 call from the home ended without anyone speaking to the dispatcher.
While speaking to the couple who lives at the home, the trooper noticed a strong smell of marijuana and then allegedly found 10 marijuana plants hanging to dry in a bedroom closet.
Troopers later served a search warrant at the home and allegedly found 72 marijuana plants, hydroponic growing equipment, several weapons, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the basement.
Homeowners Mark and Becky Friedersdorf now face drug-related charges.
