A Bloomington resident died Tuesday morning after police pulled him and another over after an alleged robbery.
Anthony H. Jacobs, 19, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Stephen T. Moore, 19, of Chicago, was arrested and faces preliminary charges of robbery.
Jacobs and Moore entered Cash Advance, 2618 S. Walnut St., at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to a press release. One of them was armed with a handgun, according to a press release. A witness attempted to block the two men inside but they fled through a back door. The witness then saw Moore and Jacobs flee into a white Jeep Cherokee in the parking area of Rails to Trails. Another motorist, who followed the Jeep, called the police, according to a press release.
The vehicle traveled down South Walnut Street when it was spotted by police, but didn’t pull over until it reached 6600 block of Old SR 37 South.
Jacobs was found slumped over in his seat. Moore was arrested and admitted to the robbery. The case is still under investigation, according to a press release.
