Police find human bones east of town

Monroe County Sheriff’s Office detectives and forensic anthropologists are working to figure out the death of a man whose remains were found Monday, said Cpt. Kenneth Barnes.

A resident on the 5400 block of East Lampkins Ridge Road – east of Bloomington – found skeletal remains at about noon Monday and contacted the sheriff’s department, Barnes said.

Barnes said he was not sure how long the investigation process would take, but the department is sure the remains are that of an adult male.
