North students referred for engaging in ‘sex acts’

Two Bloomington High School North students were referred to the Bloomington Police Department’s juvenile probation program Monday after they engaged in “sex acts” in a women’s restroom at the school.

BPD Officer Ryan Pedigo was called to the school around 3 p.m. and brought the 17-year-old male and 15-year-old female in for public indecency, according to Pedigo’s report.

School personnel had learned two students were in the restroom engaging in sexual activity.

An assistant principal located the female. The male was seen running from the restroom and was found a short time later, according to the report.

Both students admitted to committing the acts.

This was not the first time officers were called to the school on Monday for complaints of public indecency, according to the report.

At about 2:30 p.m. officers had gone to the school in response to a nearly identical case involving alleged sex acts between a different 17-year-old male student and a 16-year-old female student in a women’s  restroom.

A teacher had seen the male and female occupying the same stall but didn’t observe any sexual activity. Both students denied any sexual activity had taken place, according to the report.
