Escaped Indiana convict found

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. – An inmate who walked away from a work crew at the minimum security unit last week at the Indiana State Prison was captured Wednesday.

State Prison Superintendent Mark Levenhagen said Steven Grove was taken into custody about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at a library in Benton Harbor, Mich., about 40 miles from the prison.

The 26-year-old Kokomo man is being held at the Berrien County Jail in Benton Harbor.
Levenhagen said Grove will be placed in a maximum-security unit. Grove was convicted last May of theft, receiving stolen property and attempted aggravated battery.
