On a warm and sunny afternoon at Memorial Stadium, the Crimson defeated the Cream 28-27 in the IU football Spring Game.
Crimson sophomore quarterback Teddy Schell threw a 48-yard touchdown pass to senior wide receiver Chris Banks with 1:01 remaining in the game to secure the victory.
Leading the Crimson was the running back tandem of senior Demetrius McCray and freshman Darius Willis. McCray rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown while Willis added 80 yards and a touchdown.
Additional offensive production for the Crimson came from sophomore wide receiver Damarlo Belcher. The Fort Wayne native made six catches for 82 yards and a touchdown.
For the Cream, junior quarterback Ben Chappell was 14-22 with 205 yards in the air and two touchdowns.
Junior running back Trea Burgess made a significant impact on the ground, rushing for 92 yards and two touchdowns.
