President Barack Obama will visit Indiana on Monday to promote his economic stimulus plan.
The White House announced Friday that Obama will stop in Elkhart, Ind. This will be his first trip outside Washington since entering the White House.
The meeting, titled “A Town Hall Meeting with President Barack Obama,” is scheduled for noon Monday at Concord High School.
Doors open at 10 a.m., and the event is free and open to the public. Due to limited space, tickets are required. The last ticket distribution time is from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Concord High School McCuen Gym Entrance.
Elkhart County has the state’s highest unemployment rate, which hit 15.3 percent in December 2008, up from 4.7 percent from the year before, according the Labor Department.
