In his first business trip since claiming the presidency, Barack Obama on Monday will speak in Indiana to further push his economic agenda.
Obama will hold a town hall-style meeting, beginning at noon at Concord High School in Elkhart.
The speech comes as Senate members continue to debate Obama’s proposed $900 billion stimulus package.
Since his inauguration Jan. 20, Obama has worked with Congress, urging them to approve the spending plan.
Monday’s speech is designed to sell the recovery package among those whom it most designed to help.
Elkhart’s economy has struggled during the recent recession. Unemployment rates there reportedly hit 15.3 percent in December
The speech is free and open to the public. However, space is limited and advanced tickets are required.
