The melodious country tunes of four-time Grammy award-winning star Lyle Lovett and the folk lyrics of the critically acclaimed John Hiatt will unite when the duo perform an acoustic show at 8 p.m. Sunday, at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater.
Although the two singer-songwriters each garner respect individual accomplishments, they have been “touring together in one fashion or another since 1989 – alternating songs from throughout their careers,” according to a press release.
Fans of Lovett and Hiatt who don’t already have tickets for Sunday’s performance, however, are out of luck.
The event, billed as “An Acoustic Evening With Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt On Stage Together,” is already sold out, said Maureen Bout, marketing director of the Buskirk-Chumley.
Sunday night’s performance kicks off a musically jammed month for the theater.
“This is going to be a tremendous season for us,” Bout said.
Indie stars Ben Kweller and the Watson Twins as well as hip-hop artists Dead Prez will be performing at the theater in the next two weeks.
