Clear Your Sidewalks!
It’s been almost a week, and far too many sidewalks are still buried in snow. This is pathetic. It’s impossible to walk along many streets in our city. It is profoundly frustrating that there are people too lazy, selfish or short-sighted to realize how significant it is for the sidewalks to be clear. There are many residents who walk to work, children who walk to school and people who do not have the option of walking on the street.
When you do not clear the walking space in front of your home, you are doing a disservice to everyone. I am very disappointed in you all.
Also, where is the city in this? Shouldn’t people be cited for this kind of behavior? It’s been nearly a week since this snow has come down. I’m not asking for much; I’m just asking for our city to behave like a city and provide common courtesies that should be a “no-brainer.”
To all those that did take the time and effort to clear your properties so we can all walk – thank you. We all notice when people are doing their job, especially when so many are not.
