Indiana Attorney General's office asked to look into Planned Parenthood situation

Indiana Rep. Jackie Walorski has asked the Indiana Attorney General’s office to look into activities at Planned Parenthood of Indiana after another undercover film was released Tuesday.

A statement from the Attorney General’s office states they have received “communication” from Walorski and will review all matters that will fall under the authority of the attorney general.

The statement states “it is not the policy of the Attorney General’s office to discuss matters that may be the subject of an investigation prior to taking any official action.”

In the newly released video, UCLA student Lila Rosa poses as a 13-year-old girl impregnated by a 31-year-old man. Rose goes into the Planned Parenthood in Indianapolis and tells an employee and a counselor how old the baby’s father is. Both tell her they don’t care about the age of the boyfriend. The employee tells Rose that the surrounding states don’t have parental consent forms for abortion.

This video was released just weeks after the Bloomington Planned Parenthood came under fire for a similar incident. Rose went into the Planned Parenthood, claiming she was 13-years-old and told an employee she was impregnanted by a 31-year-old man.

The first video prompted an internal investigation by Planned Parenthood of Indiana, resulting in the removal of the employee from the Bloomington office.

In a statement from Planned Parenthood of Indiana, the organization notes that the first priority of the company is the patients.

“We are aware of the existence of an edited, anti-choice video released (Tuesday) on the Internet that purports to show noncompliance with reporting requirement,” the statement states.

Although Planned Parenthood of Indiana has not been able to verify the accuracy of the video content, they are reviewing the situation. The statement also acknowledges that the employee who appears in the video has been suspended without pay until the review is completed.
