Bloomington man arrested after burglary

A Bloomington man was arrested Monday after he burglarized a home on South Curry Pike.

Sean Pat Ray, 31, of Bloomington, faces preliminary charges of burglary and theft.

On Monday, a homeowner in the 1200 block of South Curry Pike found Ray on his property and believed he had broken into his home, according to a police report. The homeowner told officers that a previous burglary had forced him to come home Monday to remove personal items. While removing the items, the homeowner caught Ray in his backyard climbing through a wooden fence.

The homeowner was able to write down the license plate number of the truck that Ray fled to. Registration information from the truck led Monroe County deputies to Ray’s house, 3370 E. Bethel Lane, where they found the truck.

When confronted, Ray admitted to taking a TV from the residence but told officers that he had permission to do so. Officers found other items in Ray’s possession, which had been taken during the first burglary at the residence on South Curry Pike.
