As a student at IU, I can’t help but notice the Obama bombardment on campus. What started with chalking led to posters and handouts, to free concerts and celebrities, and even a visit from the senator himself. With all of this media attention, you think I’d know everything about the Obama campaign platform ... wrong. In fact, I really didn’t know any of the senator’s big stances. I had to do a little online digging just find out some important things. I want to thank Justin P. Hill for talking about Obama using words other than “hope” and “change.” (“The Pretender,” IDS April 21.) He gave some insight into the not-so-hopeful aspects of Obama and his campaign. I think many people are eating up the spoonfuls of sugar Obama is selling them. Dave Matthews seemed to sum up the attitude of Obama supporters when he said “it’s all about big ideas, then figuring out the nuts and bolts” (“Musicians rock out for change,” IDS April 7.) Personally, I would like to know about all the nuts and bolts, like taxes and spending, before I vote for something. Thanks for finding out the real issues, Justin.
"Nuts and bolts" should come first
