Local boy allegedly threatened family with knife

Suspect taken to youth treatment facility

A 17-year-old Bloomington juvenile was transported to Southwest Indiana Regional Youth Village in Vincennes after his mother reported he threatened two of his family members with a knife, Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Jeff Canada said.\nThe juvenile’s mother told officers he came home Sunday night in a bad mood and had argued with her and his sister.\nReports indicate he had gone into his sister’s room and turned over a dresser and then went into the kitchen and threw knives across the room.\nThe youth then picked up one of the knives and threatened both his mother and sister, Canada said.\nHis mother told officers she told him to put the knife down. He did, then left the home.

Man hit in head with hammer

A Bloomington man was hit in the head with a hammer when he confronted two men that were stealing items from his truck around midnight Monday, according to a police report.\nPolice responded to the 600 block of Marble Lane, where a man said he confronted two men who were stealing items from his truck, Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Jeff Canada said.\nThe victim told police the two men had run away, but not before they were able to steal several iPods, CDs and tools from his white pickup truck.\nThe man told police that he knew one of the suspects, and officers are still investigating the report, Canada said.
