I see all this recent fawning on campus over broadcast analyst and former UCLA head coach Steve Lavin, so I sure hope the IU powers that be are not considering him for the IU men’s basketball coaching position. Lavin is a failed college coach. IU deserves a winner, and so do the fans. Poor (interim head coach) Dan Dakich. I was in school on the Bloomington campus when Dakich played for former coach Bob Knight. Dakich is a good guy, but he is not the caliber of coach for Big Ten success, and his recruiting is suspect as well. Look at the debacle at Penn State as one example. So please IU Trustees, keep Lavin off the court and on the air so I can block him at will. Better yet, promote Dakich to director of athletics because Rick Greenspan definitely has to go, and it concerns me he is still on the IU payroll.\nAnd, does anyone anywhere truly believe Eric Gordon belongs in the NBA now? Compare him to Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Kevin Garnett for starters. They will eat him alive. Gordon needs to develop substantial skills before leaving IU.
Keep Lavin out of IU
