Would proper grammar kill you?

At the top of your Opinion page, above a column bewailing the extinction of languages, “The Living Dead,” is a piece attributed to the IDS Editorial Board titled “Judging Jena”. This piece contains assaults on the English language such as “many of the facts ... are as of yet substantiated” and “the town ... is divided among a racial rift.” Perhaps outright extinction is the more merciful option, compared with the drift toward the maximum entropy that seems to mark the evolution of modern English.\nI realize that you are all busy college students, but one might hope that somewhere you would find a proofreader.
