Local man robbed at gunpoint

Bloomington Police Department reports

A Bloomington resident was robbed early Sunday morning while walking on the west side of town.\nThe 20-year-old victim reported to the Bloomington Police Department that he was attacked by two black males at about 4 a.m. Sunday while walking westbound near Second and South Adams streets, BPD Capt. Joe Qualters said, reading from a police report. The suspects pushed the victim into a road sign and demanded money from him. The victim said he felt a gun pressed to the back of his head, and sustained injuries to his forehead and nose, Qualters said.\nThe victim told the suspects that he did not have any money. As the suspects were about to leave, the victim attempted to strike one of them, but missed and punched a street sign, Qualters said.\nThe suspect with the gun was described as a black male, about 6 feet tall, with dreadlocks and baggy pants. The second suspect was described as a black male, about 6-foot-2 and wearing a blue jumpsuit that zipped in the front. \n \nVillage Pantry at 12th & Indiana robbed Sunday

BPD is investigating a robbery of the Village Pantry and an attack on the store clerk working at the time by two masked men.\nBPD received a call at about 5:00 a.m. Sunday morning regarding a robbery at the Village Pantry located at 901 N. Indiana Ave., Qualters said, reading from a police report. The 27-year-old store clerk told officers that two white males wearing black ski masks and holding a “possibly fake” silver handgun and a crowbar walked in and demanded the store’s cash drawer. The drawer held an undisclosed amount of money, Qualters said.\nThe victim was struck in the head three times with a crowbar by one of the suspects during the robbery, Qualters said. He was transported to the Bloomington Hospital and treated for injuries.\nThe suspects were believed to be in their mid-20s, Qualters said.
