Is Cooper serious?

After reading Chase Cooper’s Oct. 17 column “Jeri for first lady,” I couldn’t help but wonder if he’s actually a sane person in disguise, posing as this parodic, right-wing nut job. Are we really supposed to think that a supposedly serious journalist would resort to ad hominem attacks against politician’s spouses in a column? To what end does it serve?\nHa ha, Mormons used to be polygamists – abolished in the 1890s, by the way. Ha ha, Clinton cheated on his wife – 10 years ago. Ha ha, Elizabeth Kucinich cares about the planet. Ha freakin’ ha. Must we really be subject to these nasty personal attacks when it comes to politics? They are tired. And they are old. Please have some journalistic integrity, Chase, and actually attempt to advance the dialogue at this University.
