May I offer some other benefits of I-69 that the protestors failed to realize? When I graduated from the IU School of Business in 1951, we came from and returned to school the same way as we do now: by State Road 37. \nI-69 was developed to provide an interstate highway system which would extend from the Canadian border to Mexico so that commerce could grow though out the Midwest and the larger Western Hemisphere. Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee and Texas are making great strides, but the space from Indianapolis through Arkansas is in dispute. That just isn’t right! Crane Naval Station is building two ancillary service areas which are dependent on semi-trailer transport, and operations at the French Lick-West Baden Hotel and Casino will be successful only if potential patrons can get there easily. Moreover, if residents and business don’t feel that Indiana can provide for their economic well-being, they will start moving to St. Louis or Louisville!\nThere are far more reasons, economically, to support the completion of construction through Indiana than oppose it!
I-69 a great thing for everyone involved
