a beginner's guide to...paintball

Where To Go:\nTo maximize your options and minimize your travel time, we reccomend Paintball Valley at Valley Branch Retreat. They have 10 different fields that feature crashed planes, gutted-out cars, bunkers and buses, all in the wooded hillsides of Nashville.\nIt's hardly more than a 30-minute drive, but just be sure to pay close attention near the final turns so you don't get lost. Go ahead and visit valleybranchretreat.org for directions or enter "Valley Branch" and "Indiana" into Google Maps.

What You'll Need:\nWell, first and foremost, you'll need a gun (doesn't it feel good to hear that?). Beyond that, you'll need CO2 for the weapon, paintballs and a mask. But Paintball Valley includes all these things in their packages, so don't worry if you don't have your own.\nYou can rent some coveralls for four bucks, but they still recommend you wear dark, loose clothing, a baseball cap and boots or cleats with good traction.\nOh, and don't forget the Zepplin or Black Sabbath for the ride.

How Much It'll Cost:\nSo be honest, how much are you willing to pay for this experience? $50? $100? Your first-born?\nTry $40. Max. Parties of 6-12 get a group rate of $40 per person, which includes the gun, mask, air, 500 balls and 3-4 hours of pure, aggression-releasing mayhem.\nGroups of 13-26 play for $38 per person, and groups of 26+ play for $35. You'll also need to pay a $50 - $100 refundable deposit up front. \nCall 812-988-7750 to schedule an outing, and aim for at least two weeks advance notice.
