7:17: Live blog from IUPUI presidential announcement

7:17: We're back in the newsroom. Overall, I'm pretty happy in who I was able to talk with and the answers I was able they gave me. A lot of emphasis by both Herbert and McRobbie was placed on encouraging a smooth transitions among presidents. \nTime to go and write a story. Be sure to read the IDS tomorrow for full coverage!

4:57: Apparently Oprah is on and the TV stations won't break away. Looks like we'll be waiting a minute for the press conference to start.

4:56: I talked with Herbert. He said he thinks McRobbie is in a better position than he was coming in as president. He acknowledged what many people said all along that an outsider to the University could significant problems adjusting to life at IU. Time for the press conference to begin!

\n4:20: McRobbie is introduced and comes out with his wife. Says he intends to be a president for "whole of this university."

4:01: Herbert looks down toward the desk for most of the first few minutes. He appears deep in thought.\nTalbot begins talking. She says IU is in a position to become one of the great research universities. \nTalbot says McRobbie has quality that are "absolutely essential" to serving as a president.

3:59: Here we go! I've been sitting here for a while now. McRobbie is standing stage right! They announce right off the bat that McRobbie will be the next president. Trustee Shoulders is not there
