Shuttle offered for staff

Starting Monday, a new shuttle bus service will be available to all IU faculty and staff members.\nIU Transportation Services is providing the shuttle because of the start of the construction of a new parking garage at the corner of Fess and Atwater avenues. \nThe construction, which will eventually add 500 spaces, removed a 144-space lot until the project is completed in August.\nAccording to a news release from Transportation Services, IU decided to provide the shuttle after some faculty and staff raised concerns about the loss of parking.\nFaculty and staff will be able to park their cars at the Indiana Avenue Church of Christ parking lot at the corner of Indiana Avenue and 12th Street. Service begins at 7:30 a.m. and runs every 15 minutes until 5:30 p.m., but there will be no service between 10:15 and 11:15 a.m.\nThe service is for IU staff and faculty only. It is a joint effort between IU Parking Operations, the Campus Bus Service and the Motor Pool.\nIn addition, paid parking was eliminated from the Poplars Parking Garage and Atwater Parking Garage to make room for employees with parking passes.
